The danger for pigs and chickens
For farms where chickens and pigs are raised, climate change poses many challenges. If the ventilation system fails on a hot day, the consequences can be disastrous. There is a danger of suffocation for pigs, and chickens can suffer from heat stress.
To tackle this problem, there is a need for a monitoring system that works independently of the barn's climate control.
How Crodeon can help
The Crodeon Reporter is a wireless sensor module with a real-time cloud connection and alarm function.
Link up to six sensors to one Reporter and view the latest measurements wherever and whenever you want on the Crodeon Dashboard. Multiple buildings or compartments can be monitored with just one Reporter.
The right sensors for your barn
A simple temperature sensor is sufficient to measure the temperature in chicken houses. To protect pigs from suffocation, we recommend a CO2 sensor that measures temperature and humidity in addition to CO2, the perfect combination to keep your pigs safe.
In addition, pressure probes or flow meters can also be added to monitor the water supply.
Who can install the Reporter?
You can install the Reporter yourself, without any technical experience. Connect the sensors to their respective connector and mount the device on the wall. Log in to the app and your sensor data will appear.
The Reporter is waterproof and UV resistant and can therefore be placed both inside and outside your barn.
Alarm notifications
For each connected sensor, the user can define thresholds, delays and other settings. Receive a notification by SMS or voice call when the temperature or CO2 exceeds certain limits. Up to four people can be notified in an emergency. If the recipient does not respond immediately, the next contact in line is called.
Power cuts are one of the most common causes of ventilation failure. To address this problem, the Reporter also monitors the power supply.
With a lithium-ion battery on board, the device functions as an autonomous system. Only cell phone coverage is required.
We monitor your alarm system
Crodeon automatically monitors the health of every Reporter and sensor. If the Reporter stops working, when the mobile phone provider is offline or in case of a defective sensor, the customer will be contacted within 24 hours. This way you can be sure that your Reporter works properly all year round.
