About the Pig CO2 Monitoring kit

Prevent pig suffocation with this CO2 sensor kit for livestock safekeeping.

Remote monitoring CO2 concentrations reduces swine mortality as air quality inside barns is continuously measured and logged.

Assembled by Crodeon for professional use in hog barns, pigsties and swine farms - the kit measures, monitors and logs CO2 concentrations, temperature, atmospheric pressure and relative humidity in your pig farm.

What makes Crodeon's monitoring solutions stand out is the utter ease at which the system goes live. No prior technical knowledge is required to operate Reporter. Simply plug the sensors into the module, and start logging and monitoring your project.

This user-friendly kit is easy and efficient for gathering reliable data while guaranteeing hog safeguarding.

Crodeon Cloud

Data is streamed to the cloud (Crodeon Dashboard) in real-time through the GSM network. As all customisations happen in the cloud, you can adjust the settings of your pig CO2 alarm notifications and measurement intervals here. Receive alarm notifications for exceeding CO2 limits, temperatures, atmospheric pressure or humidity. Reporter also comes with a built-in power failure alarm that warns you about power outages in your building.

CO2 monitoring with API

All sensor data is available through a rest API thanks to Reporter. Seamlessly connect your own software or systems for easy data integration.

Where to use the kit?

The Pig CO2 Monitoring kit's sensors should be installed in pig barns to monitor as closely to the animals as possible. Do not place Reporter inside the barn, as the high ammonia concentrations will damage the device.

Reporter is IP67 and therefore can be mounted to an outside wall without any problems.

What is included?

The Pig CO2 Monitoring kit consists of a sensor module with four multipurpose CO2 sensors that measure CO2, temperature (dry bulb and wet bulb), atmospheric pressure, and relative humidity. The kit is completed with compatible extension cables, grid power supply and a data subscription for one year.

We trust in industry-leading technology, which is why we bundle our strengths with existing sensors from high-end sensor producers. Our CO2 sensors use industry-leading Sensirion SCD30 chips.

All hardware has been made compatible by Crodeon to ensure a smooth plug & play installation process for you.

What makes Crodeon unique in CO2 barn monitoring?

Reporter works on grid power or its own solar panel, supported by a built-in battery that can last for multiple days to weeks depending on your measurement interval. When connected to the power grid, Reporter functions as a power outage alarm, keeping you up to date about the grid power supply in your building.

Data streams to our cloud platform, the Crodeon Dashboard through the GSM network (2G or 4G).

Other commercial livestock monitoring systems work on WiFi or local networks that can quickly become unreliable due to power cuts. A power outage, in this case, will not only kill your ventilation system but also your monitoring system and pig CO2 alarm when your data connection goes offline.

This is where Reporter as an autonomous and robust solution becomes the obvious choice for livestock monitoring to prevent pig suffocation.

What's in the box

1x Reporter (sensor module)
4x CO2 sensors + 10m cable
(CO2, temperature, atmospheric pressure, and relative humidity)
1x Grid power supply (EU or UK plug)
1x Data subscription for 1 year

1 year subscription included

Reporter requires a yearly subscription to operate. The subscription covers things like connectivity and use of the Crodeon Dashboard. The Pig CO2 Monitoring kit has a 12 months subscription included.

FAQ

Why should the air quality in pig barns be monitored?

Pigs, just like humans, can asphyxiate due to high CO2 concentrations. Pig air quality measuring with a CO2 sensor system therefore reduces swine mortality.

Do I need a technician to install the system for me?

No, not at all. Reporter was designed to be as user-friendly and straightforward as possible. Both the installation, online configuration, and any future maintenance can be carried out by yourself. It’s our mission to make hog safekeeping as accessible as possible.
