How Crodeon helps research companies save time with remote monitoring and data logging

Temperature control is essential to keeping food and goods safe, especially when they tend to expire or get damaged under higher or lower temperatures. To control temperature, a cooling installation or climate room often has an internal cooling or heating system with its own thermostat. The fact however remains that this internal system can still malfunction and you won't know until it's too late.

In order to protect your products, accurate temperature measuring and monitoring are needed.

In what situations does one need temperature control?

Managing temperature is important in several situations. Often when storing food in cold rooms or freezers, but don't forget that certain electronics too can get damaged in heat. Even record collections (vinyl LPs) can get warped and damaged due to heat.

Situations that require temperature monitoring:

Why temperature control is incomplete without remote monitoring

Even if your temperature system is able to correct itself when temperature deviates from the set values, it still won't be complete. When your system malfunctions it is unlikely that it is able to auto-detect its own problem. Your set-up is unlikely to detect a power outage, which means that it simply goes offline without warning you. At the same time, the goods in this room are no longer protected and you won't find out until it's too late.

There's always the possibility of a dysfunctional internal thermometer. Meaning that the temperature that your installation measures does not correspond with reality. Your cold room doesn't know this, and unfortunately neither do you… This makes it extra important to have a second system that checks the temperature 24/7.

The importance of alarm notifications

When something is amiss in your cold room, freezer, storage room or climate room, you want to know. Sooner rather than later! A system that malfunctions for hours or even days often means that whatever you were storing is beyond saving and can still only be thrashed. This can hurt, both financially and emotionally.

Instead of blaming yourself that you didn't know and that you should have checked sooner, you should choose a system that checks the temperature for you. It alarms you when the actual temperature deviates too much from whatever value you set. Such alarm notifications are an integral part of a monitoring system.

When the climate control in your storage fails, the remote monitoring system sends out alarm notifications.

How it should work:

  • You receive an alarm notification (phone or email) when there's a power outage
  • You receive an alarm notification when the temperature exceeds the minimal or maximal temperature you set.
  • If the person who gets the message does not respond to the alarm within a certain time limit, the next person in line will be contacted (cascading alarms).

temperature control

Reporter helps you make the most of temperature control

When you use remote monitoring, you choose to be absolutely sure that nothing can go wrong. Reporter is our remote monitoring system that works complementary with your climate control. When your temperature is not what it should be, Reporter sends an alarm notification. Even when a power outage occurs, Reporter will know and make sure you know too. These alarms are sent through email or phone, to optionally up to and including four people (cascading alarms).

Reporter is a sensor module that lets you connect up to four sensors (in whatever combination you want). You can connect a temperature sensor, RH sensor, CO2 sensor etc. Reporter will stream these measurements to the cloud 24/7. On the cloud platform called the Crodeon Dashboard, here you can view live and historic data.

€499

Do you want your temperature sensor to automatically control your system through an IPA integration? No problem, Reporter makes all sensors API-compatible.
