How we protect pigs and chickens from CO2 poisoning and heat
In the summer of 2018, as many as 2.000 pigs died in a village not far from Eindhoven in the Netherlands. As the temperature in the barn rose to around 40 degrees after the ventilation system failed, the animals met their fatal end. Unfortunately, such scenes are not exceptional. What causes these situations is often a power outage or simply higher outside temperatures than the barn’s ventilation can handle. The cause of death is suffocation implying lack of oxygen or excessive CO2.
Comparing the Watermark sensor to the WaterScout SM100
Both the WaterScout SM100 and the Watermark sensor measure soil moisture. However, there are some differences we can point out. In this article, we'll take a closer look at the two sensors, go over the main pros and cons and provide some tips on how you can get started quickly yourself.
Effortless waterflow and groundwater level monitoring
Europe has been hit hard by issues with groundwater availability in recent years, shining light on a problem that many assumed was not that serious until now. Belgium for example is ranked 22nd in the “Water Risk Indicator”, a report by the World Resources Institute from 2019, and it seems that things will get even worse in the near future.
Introducing Data as a Service
We’re kicking off 2021 with a new subscription-only package for the Crodeon Reporter. The offer includes lifetime warranty and unlimited sensor data storage from day one. Read on to find out why this isn’t just a time and money saver, but also smart from an accounting point of view.
The next step for Crodeon
Over the past five years Crodeon has evolved from two people with an idea into a real company with innovative technology and a loyal customer base. Last year we noticed our start-up was really taking off and the opportunity in the market was growing. That’s when we realised that it was time for the next step. Today we are glad to announce that Crodeon has completed a seed funding round of 600.000 euros at the end of 2020.
Sint-Rembert school group using data in fight against COVID
The coronavirus hits almost every sector directly or indirectly. This is definitely the case for schools. In order to remain open, teachers and principals do everything they can to ensure proper ventilation for students. Unfortunately, this leads to a significant increase in heating costs. One solution is to measure the CO2 levels and temperatures in classrooms, in an attempt to keep the heating bill under control.
How Crodeon helps research companies save time with remote monitoring and data logging
Research organisations often rely on data to search for the next breakthrough discovery. Data logging however, can be a painful process where finding and setting up the right components takes valuable time, especially outdoors or when wireless connectivity is involved.
Expanding our team
Busy times at Crodeon. We recently hired two more developers to accelerate our growth. Each of them will play a key role at our company, so they definitely deserve an introduction.
